Welcome to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center |
Jackson Park Hospital & Medical Center is a 326-bed acute, short-term comprehensive care facility serving the south side of Chicago. Jackson Park Hospital's service to the community goes back as far as World War I when it provided care to returning wounded veterans. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, therapeutic and ancillary services with a commitment to medical education at all levels.
The hospital offers full medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric, and medical stabilization (detox) services as well as medical sub-specialties including cardiology, pulmonary, gastrointestinal disease, renal, orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, infectious disease, HIV, hematology/oncology and geriatrics. Quality ambulatory care is provided through the family medicine center (FMC), senior health center (SCC) and Korshak center (sub-specialty clinics, including an HIV clinic), conveniently located within the same premises.
The emergency department projects approximately 25,000 patient visits annually with full-time attending physician coverage, nurse practitioners, resident physicians and medical students.
The hospital also provides medical education and training through its family medicine residency program and several affiliated medical schools.
The hospital serves a very high indigent population. Approximately 80 percent of the hospital's patients are covered by Medicare and Medicaid. Since 1959, Jackson Park Hospital & Medical Center has invested more than $32M in expansion and renovation to provide services that were previously unavailable in the community it serves and yet constantly strives to better serve the growing needs of the community.

Under the leadership of Jackson Park Hospital Foundation Chairman of the Board, William O. Dorsey III, M.D., Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center has a new state of the art medical office building that recently opened.
Located on the corner of Cornell Avenue and 75th Street, the site of our former Senior Health Center, the new medical building opened in 2009. It houses not only new offices for our Senior population, but also our family health center, Family Medicine Residency program, and private practice offices for both primary medical care and specialist care. There is more meeting space, more spacious waiting areas, and more consultation areas. It offers a customer friendly atmosphere for you to feel comfortable, confident and safe.
The best aspect of our new building is that it is "green". In other words, it was designed in an environmentally responsible and beautiful way. Jackson Park Hospital has been an anchor of our south side community for almost 100 years, and with our new building, continues its commitment to the community.
