SURGICAL SERVICES

The highly skilled surgeons and interventional radiologists at Jackson Park Hospital provide state-of-the-art minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgeries and interventions as well as a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures including: general, vascular, orthopedic, podiatry, eye, and otolaryngology.

Vascular
Jackson Park Hospital participates in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Fistula First Initiative.  CMS’s Fistula First Initiative is a quality improvement initiative to promote the use of Arteriovenous Fistulas (AVF) in all suitable dialysis patients. AVF’s are considered the best vascular access because they: allow for increased blood flow resulting in a better dialysis treatment; tend to last longer than other access types, and have demonstrated the best outcomes with fewer infection rates.  To learn more about AVF and the other vascular surgical and interventional options available at JPH, call our Vascular Clinic at (773) 947-7800.

Orthopedic
Our orthopedic surgeons understand that most people will experience knee or shoulder pain and low back pain in their lifetime and alleviating the pain and overcoming one’s functional disability is of prime importance to our patients. With the focus on providing the most comprehensive care for patients, our orthopedic surgeons and pain management physicians provide a wide spectrum of surgical and interventional procedures to restore musculoskeletal functions and improve our patient’s quality of life.  To find out more about the orthopedic services available at JPH, call our Orthopedic Specialty Clinic at (773) 947-7670.

Ophthalmology
In 2011, JPH acquired Chatham Eye Center in south Chicago to better serve the eye care needs of our community. Along with this acquisition, we are proud to now offer the Alcon Infiniti Vision System, one of the most advanced systems for cataract removal.   This system offers increased flexibility and greater options for the eye surgeons with more control over the lens-removal procedure. A major benefit for the patient is the ability of our surgeons to now perform the procedure with the potential for reduced surgical risk and a shorter operative time. The shorter surgery time is much healthier for the eye and has the potential for causing less swelling to occur to the inside of the eye. Without these potential complications, the patient can expect a quicker recovery of vision.  If you have any questions regarding getting cataracts removed, call our eye clinic representative at (773) 947-7861
