Jackson Park Hospital provides comprehensive, high quality inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services. JPH’s radiology program is accredited to the highest standards of safety, quality and excellence by the State of Illinois and the American College of Radiology.

Imaging at JPH is digitalized for most modalities through the use of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).  PACS is a computerized network that allows for viewing, storage and distribution of digital images.  In addition to providing higher quality images than traditional x-ray film for diagnosing your condition, the system allows faster turn around times for your imaging results to be communicated to  your physician, which in turn allows for improved times from diagnosis to treatment. 

The PACS also allows referring physicians to view the images and access the radiologist’s reports right in their office through their computer.  Our Board Certified radiologists and interventional radiologists are available to provide consultations and analysis to your physician whenever needed.

Jackson Park Hospital offers the state-of-the-art Toshiba Aquilion 64 Slice CT, which is a vital tool in diagnosing a wide range of conditions, including heart disease and stroke. In March, 2011, JPH upgraded the 64 Slice CT with a new software program which offers patients, including pediatric patients, the highest level of image quality.  By simply entering the patient’s age and weight, the software automatically makes the adjustment needed to acquire the quality image necessary for accurate diagnosis with the least amount of radiation.  In addition to reducing radiation, the new system calculates and archives patient dosage, lessens noise algorithms, while improving patient safety and comfort.  JPH  is the first hospital on Chicago’s south side to offer this technological advancement.

We understand that waiting for a diagnosis can be very stressful, that’s why you can take comfort in knowing that we pride ourselves in being able to offer same day and next day appointments.  Walk in appointments are also welcome on a time available basis.
